About us

The Finest Federal Credit Union is the only financial institution specifically created to serve the needs of all law enforcement personnel in New York State—both uniform and civilian—including retirees and all family members. Chartered in 2015, The Finest FCU evolved from the vision of a group of retired NYPD officers who believed their colleagues should receive the best financial services available, services tailored to the special needs of the law enforcement community and affiliated departments.

Upon the formation of The Finest FCU (Federal Credit Union), former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio praised The Finest FCU for serving police officers who take unique risks due to the nature of their job. “It is common for peace officer organizations to establish specialized credit unions that provide savings, lending, and insurance products that meet their special needs,” de Blasio said. “I am pleased to learn that a specialized credit union, The Finest Federal Credit Union, is being established for that purpose.”

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to serve the financial needs of the law enforcement personnel of New York State that make up our “Field of Membership.” That means helping our members and their families realize their financial goals. We will fulfill our mission by providing New York’s law enforcement community with competitive and uniquely tailored financial products and services that facilitate borrowing, promote thrift, and encourage wise money management.

OUR MEMBERS

The Finest Federal Credit Union members represent all branches of law enforcement in New York State, including police, criminal investigation, state and federal, highway patrol, drug enforcement, FBI, emergency dispatch, correctional facilities, transportation security agencies, sheriffs, constables, and marshals. They provide law enforcement services from Long Island to Buffalo, from New York City to Syracuse, Albany, Rochester and every city, county and agency both large and small.
